Andrell Education Australasia is an education company focused on improving students’ writing skills through the Big Write and VCOP framework (Vocabulary, Connectives, Openers, and Punctuation). Founded in 2011 by literacy consultant Samantha Taylor, the company delivers professional learning, literacy resources, and classroom methodologies designed to strengthen writing outcomes across schools in Australasia. Samantha Taylor adapted and implemented the Big Write and VCOP approach in Australian classrooms after training in the UK and has worked to align aspects of the framework with the Australian curriculum.
The methodology emphasizes the connection between oral language and writing development, built around the principle: “If they can’t say it, they can’t write it.” Through oral games, discussions, vocabulary-building activities, and structured writing tasks, the framework aims to enhance students’ creativity, idea generation, confidence, and writing voice, while making writing more engaging and enjoyable for young learners.
Over the years, Andrell Education Australasia has partnered with schools and educators across Australia to implement the Big Write and VCOP methodology. The company has also expanded into India through collaborations with accredited literacy trainers Jigna Dharod and Shalini Devi Ramanathan, who support schools and educators in implementing the approach through teacher training and literacy programs.
